I've already got one of them but its not the right firmware for fibre..

There's a link to the Fibre firmware in this thread http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,109784.0.html

Re: FTTC Install

The new router is sitting in the sorting office on the other side of town having been "delivered" at 13:30 this afternoon. apparently its too big to fit through the letter box although in the past the postie has pushed bigger boxes through the letter box.
I'm going to grab the firmware and flash utility just in case

Re: FTTC Install

@SteveA
Having just checked your account I can see that the router has been dispatched. Let me know (as I'm sure you would anyway) if it doesn't get there in time of if there's any issues with it.

Re: FTTC Install

I picked it up from the Sorting Office 5 minutes before it closed tonight.
Now I'm just waiting for BT to cancel because of the snow  Angry

Re: FTTC Install

I'd not worry, I've just check the order, both its status and the notes don't indicate any issues.

Re: FTTC Install

They've been and gone..
Now 26.3 down and 8.48 up
IP Profile for the line is - 38.72 Mbps
Upstream Rate IP profile on the line is - 10 Mbps
I'm on unlimited fibre but suspect this is the max I'll get this far from the cab.

Re: FTTC Install

Plugged in a cable rather than using the wireless and got this:

Re: FTTC Install

So am I ... BT turned up, plugged something in, went down to the cab and swapped things over, came back, and replaced the faceplate and connected the modem and the Thomson router, made sure we could connect and left. Total time was about 30 minutes...
They said that I was one of the few getting an install done today. One of the engineers usually works in Droitwich but BT had pulled him closer to home because of the snow.

Re: FTTC Install

I had much lower speeds on wireless with the PN router. I'm using an Asus RT-N56U now & there's no loss.
