FTTC Download OK, upload very slow

We're around 900m from the fibre cabinet so don't expect 40/10, but we did settle for around 27mbps down and 4mbps up for something like two years. After a loss of service a few weeks ago was fixed, we now get the same download speed, but only 600k to (at best) 1m upload.
Have had several Openreach visits and they can't fins any faults. They've moved us to different ports ("lift and shift") and then onto a different line card, but it's made no difference. Openreach engineer has run out of ideas, but does say we should be getting over 30mbps download (original Plusnet estimate was 33mbps +/- 1%) and 6-8mbps upload.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Anyway, my ticket's reply blames crosstalk. I'm not convinced. Someone, please, tell me that 28mbps download and 600kbps upload is not normal.

We don't officially work the forums at the weekends and I apologise you received no response yesterday. First of all, it is entirely possible that your seeing reduced speeds due to crosstalk. However, your upload speeds are unacceptable and the reason they are so low is because they are capped. DLM on FTTC is so complicated there aren't many people on the planet that fully understands it. However, what I can tell you is that as long as you have disconnections, whether it's you or a faulty connection then speed will never improve.

It's possible that some of these disconnections have been caused by yourself. I suggest not touching the modem and monitoring for a few days. If you're still seeing disconnections an engineer will need to be sent out to have a look at the drops in connection rather than the speed. Once you have a stable connection for a certain time (Could be anything between 8 days and 64 days) then the speed will increase. If an engineer makes a physical change to the network, we can ask them to manually reset the line which would increase the speed immediately.

We're not able to do DLM reset's on FTTC unless an engineer makes a change to the network (Changes the pair etc..) I'm happy to have a look at your account on Monday if you'd prefer. I'm interested to find out what's going on with your connection but I'm leaving the office shortly..

I would be grateful if you could take a look on Monday as i say it's been 3 months and not a single increase, I use to sync at 65Mb profiles at 63.5 Mb before the fault , when i got the fault it dropped to 60Mb after three engineer visits to find the problem and due to them disconnecting the modem each time to run tests etc DLM dropped it down to its current 59Mb sync 57Mb profiles, it's remained that way since even after the fault was sorted out and tests showing the line to be green. I did ask if profiles can get stuck but was told it hasn't been seen on Fibre so i dunno

The disconnects all last week (Monday to Thursday) were Openreach engineers working on the problem! Yes, they were here on-and-off for four days and told me they could find nothing wrong with my line as far as the cabinet, but did see a high resistance at the cabinet (900 metres away). That prompted ...

That was done - a "lift and shift" (?) on Wednesday and a line-card move on Thursday. The engineer did tell me that he'd requested some kind of reset after the changes, but he wasn't sure that happened correctly. He knew they'd done something wrong the first time he asked ...
As I've mentioned in my ticket, we got around 4mbps upload for at least a year until a fault happened a few weeks ago. The BT DSL checker says we should get 5.8mbps upload (low range B) which is supposed to allow for crosstalk. That's why I don't think 600kbps is acceptable. The 4mbps we were getting I can live with

We have to contact a different department at BT (By email) to ask them to reset the DLM profile remotely. I've asked the question and as soon as I hear anything I will be in touch. Alternatively, we may need to arrange a further engineer.
@Terranova
Your line appears to be operating with the accepted range. - Down 38.2 & Up 7.7 are the estimates according to https://www.dslchecker.bt.com/. Your banding is currently: 37M-74M Downstream, Interleaving Off - 7.5M-15M Upstream, Interleaving Off. Which is the highest it will go to with your current sync speed.

That's my complaint. Downstream is OK and upstream was too until a fortnight ago.
Actually I don't think I should be banded 37-74m down, 7.5-15m up; I know I will never get close to that because of my distance from the cabinet.
When I switched to fibre unlimited I was told I'd stay on the 40/10 profile rather than 80/20 for that very reason. I only switched to remove the 40GB a month cap.

That banding profile was aimed at Terranova for his/her connection. Can you confirm what your upload speed was previously? Please see below the response I received from BT verbatim :-
in sync at 29 meg down and 800k up the downstream is correct, the max rate on RRT is 29 meg, so this will not attain higher.
The upstream max rate however is 2 meg, and yet it will only sync at 800k, this is because of crosstalk on the line and there is nothing we can do about that
In short the profile request from the engineer did go through and there is no capping on the line.
Upstream not achieving expected speed due to cross talk on the line.

AFAIK the Fault Threshold Rate (FTR) for upstream on a 10Mb provisioned line is the higher of 22.5% of the downstream sync or 2Mb. Your upstream, Stoker, is cleary well below that!.
Quote Would you agree that 600kbps (or less) upstream is NOT in the accepted range? So far no-one from Plusnet has.
