Re: F9/plusnet unlimated to plusnet premium speeds & traffic shaping

1000 upstream yesterday , 650 today didnt think it would vary so much....
Seems stats changed again in the early hours.......
BT
Download speedachieved during the test was - 5193 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 600-7150 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :6831 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 647 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 5500 Kbps

Re: F9/plusnet unlimated to plusnet premium speeds & traffic shaping

After following spraxyt's advice Smiley
Fastest connection yet although it still seems on the lower side for a 37 line attenuation.
Downstream Upstream
SNR Margin : 6.1 5.9 db
Line Attenuation :37.0 25.0 db
Data Rate : 7116 1031 kbps

Re: F9/plusnet unlimated to plusnet premium speeds & traffic shaping

Left things well alone for over a day just to let things settle.
Noticed that the Downstream SNR has dipped down into the 3's  (stable connection though)
PPP connection time : 1:03:04:51 ( 1 day 3hours 4mins 51 sec)

Modulation : ADSL2 PLUS
Annex Mode : ANNEX_A

Downstream Upstream
SNR Margin : 3.6 5.0 db
Line Attenuation : 37.0 25.0 db
Data Rate : 7116 1031 kbps

Is this normal for ADSL2+ for the SNR to fluctuate as much ?
I know on the capped 20CN it never really moved of 6

Re: F9/plusnet unlimated to plusnet premium speeds & traffic shaping

Thanks itsme
Bit  disheartened today with the speeds.
Been running rock soild for 3 days at over 7100kbps then around 6/8 am (again) it resync'ed at 6400.
So any Line profile increase has gone out the window again.:(
Just reset things again & its only 6500

Re: F9/plusnet unlimated to plusnet premium speeds & traffic shaping

Is it possible to have a downstream speed Cap on 21CN ?
It starting to confuse me on why  the sync is now the same as it was at the start of this thread on 20CN ?Huh
The line stats have improved , the SNR  is stable around 6 in the daytime  & line atten has dropped from 42 to 37 / 38.
Yet  downstream sync speed still around 6500kpbs ??
Line stats
Modulation : ADSL2 PLUS
Annex Mode : ANNEX_A

Downstream Upstream
SNR Margin : 6.0 5.9 db
Line Attenuation :38.0 25.0 db
Data Rate : 6552 1000 kbps

Raised a ticket to ask 21CN faults tearm just to check things.
Thanks f9o

First attempt at this Smiley
DMT has the Bit loading data ?

Re: F9/plusnet unlimated to plusnet premium speeds & traffic shaping

Maybe downstream  interleaving needs knocking off ?Huh
If downstream is switched off then may get the same increase as happen with upstream from 444kbps to over 1100 kbps?
thanks again f9o

Re: F9/plusnet unlimated to plusnet premium speeds & traffic shaping

The bit loading plots don't look as bad as I thought they might. However only a limited range of the higher ADSL2+ frequencies is working for you, and the rest needs to contribute to increase your download speed. It's possible that the DLM has you on a 3328-6656kbps fixed profile. The 21CN faults team should be able to tell you if that is the case.
However since you have synced above 6656kbps it seems unlikely you are on a banded profile.
Have you had any feedback from your ticket?

Re: F9/plusnet unlimated to plusnet premium speeds & traffic shaping

Hi spraxyt
Thanks for taking a look at the stats ... Smiley
I'm not 100% sure yet that I know what I'm doing with DLM tool but I'm trying to learn with help what I can.
Nothing back from CSC yet I guess 21CN teams been busy with central capacity upgrades. (PN  seem to have had a outage around late after noon so I switched everything off of an hour or two. )
The Speedtouch has pre 6.0 flimware  Wink so I could change the target  SNR but I didn't want to do that just yet?Huh
Live line stats
ptime: 0 days, 0:26:48
Modulation: G.992.5 Annex A
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 1.044 / 6.470
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 12,5 / 0,0
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 22,0 / 40,5
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 6,0 / 6,0

Still seems like the 20CN BT  cap is in place.
Thanks again f9o

Re: F9/plusnet unlimated to plusnet premium speeds & traffic shaping

Full DMT 60Min peak time snap shot of the line stats.
Output power does that look right  ?? ( again don't want to use area 51 yet)
From kitz
"With adsl2+ most lines will be running to their maximum capability, and a figure of around 18-19 dBm is the norm."
line data
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]:12,5 / 0,0 ?Huh

Re: F9/plusnet unlimated to plusnet premium speeds & traffic shaping

From CSC
Thanks for your message. ID: 32307358
So that we can further investigate this issue we will need you to run the BT Speedtester service, so that we can confirm the speed of the physical connection.
This test needs to be run 3 times, preferably one test in the morning, one in the afternoon and a final test as late in the evening as possible.
Once you have done this, if you could reply to this ticket with the results of the 3 tests, we can then get this investigated further and if necessary, escalated to BT.

Not More Speed testing  Sad
Download speedachieved during the test was - 5419 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 600-7150 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :6469 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 1044 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 5000 Kbps
Download speedachieved during the test was - 5311 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 600-7150 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :6653 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 758 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 5000 Kbps

Re: F9/plusnet unlimated to plusnet premium speeds & traffic shaping

It seems to be the norm to ask for more tests on the BT speedtester even though you've already done lots of them.
Having a downstream output power of 0.0dBm is nothing to worry about. That is a 'feature' of the Thomson on ADSL2+; I think it means it's at the maximum value (which is normal).

Re: F9/plusnet unlimated to plusnet premium speeds & traffic shaping

Thanks spraxyt Smiley
Is that 12.5dBm on the low side ? When reading Kitzs, 18-19 dBm is the norm for adsl2+ running at maximum capability?
I think your right on the banded profile or some other  cap. Seems to be syncing around that key 6654kbps.
Noticed  the SNR figures have  increased to 7 & 8 ( maybe weather related  ?)

From CSC :

Thanks for this I am passing this over to the correct team, we will email you again in due course.

That was faster the usual on the ticket speed ....
Mand & the rest of the team must be getting back on top of things  Smiley
Should I also ask to get  downstream interleaving knocked off  as well. ?
