Hi Dan,
It's about to get better! I've just lifted it from 4000k to 6000k which you should see shortly.

Re: Extremely Slow service for the last 48 hours...

Find the downstream attenuation reported by your router and put it in to here: http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/max_speed_calc.php
If it shows a significantly higher speed it's worth going for the upgrade. If it's not a lot better I'd suggest you stick where you are.

Hmm...
It looks like you are not achieving the expected sync for your attenuation - I think I'd suggest investigating why that is first!
Could you post your router stats please (sync speed, attenuation and noise margin).

Re: Extremely Slow service for the last 48 hours...

Hi Dan,
As jelv says you should see a better sync rate than your current 6944k with an attenuation of 29dB and SNR of 6dB. How is set up wired?

Thompson router goes straight into main socket. Building was wired by bt in 2005 when it was built. A

... and if it's not in the test socket are any other sockets in use?

Main socket. There is one phone on a bt hard wired socket on a filter. I think

Re: Extremely Slow service for the last 48 hours...

I'll get in before Jojo!
You need to be sure about that filter - using anything unfiltered on another extension WILL cause problems.
Can you make a note of the router stats (sync speed, attenuation and noise margin) then take the front off the main socket and put the router in to the test socket. Then take the stats again.
Post back with the before and after.
You should also confirm that when you are using the test socket the extension is dead.

Re: Extremely Slow service for the last 48 hours...

HI Danielrymill,
Just so you know what you're looking for here is a picture of the test socket. You should just have the filter directly into there.
