Expected line speed

Can Plusnet advise how they produce this information

When my log shows that from 19th Jan to the 24th Jan my line was stable at 3776kbps and hasn't dropped below 3584kbps since

old jim being on same length line as you the bt one has allways estimated my line at 2.5mb.
dont know how they work it out as 2.5mb is my stable profile with interleaving off but with interleaving on i can just about hold on to a stable 3.5mb defo 3mb.
when i was on interleaving and holding a 3mb profile for weeks on end. the bt estimate never changed

and  bt now say 2mb Grin i can only rember having a 2mb profile for 2days donkeys ago

I think the terminolgy is confusing. In the context it's being used it seems to mean "Profile"
