Exchange Congestion and move to 21CN

If I am on 20CN and my exchange is congested (VP issues), I then move to 21CN, does the congestion still apply?

Re: Exchange Congestion

I imagine not since physical rejumpering from DSLAM to MSAN is involved. In fact there is mention in these forums of users on a congested VP being moved to a less congested one (20CN in both cases) to fix peak time speed issues.

Re: Exchange Congestion

Thanks spraxyt.
I am due to be moved onto 21CN this week and although my exchange shows green my D/L speeds are consistently around 6.5Mbs during the day but drop to around 2Mbs in the evening rush hour.
I was therefore hoping the move might alleviate this issue.

Re: Exchange Congestion

Yep,  spraxyt is right there, 20CN and 21CN capacity are managed separately by BTW.

Fibre has been available for over a month now but I'm easing my network into higher data rates gradually Smiley

And your bill into a higher rate as well then  Grin
I feel you should be asking PN for your current line speed to be upped forthwith!

Re: Exchange Congestion

Looks promising.  Smiley
Asking Plusnet to increase your Plusnet Profile to 12.1Mbps will ensure training takes place at the correct transfer rates.
Presumably you still have a 6dB downstream target noise margin. The DLM might try 3dB is error rates are low.

Not complaining, just curious.
