Essentials Speed Paying for Unlimited

I have recently switched from BT Infinity 2 to Plusnet Unlimited fibre - I was quoted as expecting 59mbps down and 8mbps up. Broadly inline with what the BT line was. However on installation I am getting 28mbps down and a measly 0.8mbps up.
It seems to me that something is wrong and plusnet are not replying to my support question.
Anyone else have this problem?

Try the BT speedtest Further Diagnostics as that may give an idea

Re: Essentials Speed Paying for Unlimited

I've tried the further diagnostics and it seems to confirm my suspicions:

Although the speed has now risen it would seem that I'm connected to the lower speed service - 38/2 vs 80/20.
I've read elsewhere on the forum that PN will connect people to the lower service and upgrade only if they request.
Is someone from Plusnet able to comment?

The gremlins have struck again - you have been provisioned on 40/2 - I think it is called fat finger syndrome or I am not looking at what I am doing but chatting instead
Should be picked up and sorted today

Re: Essentials Speed Paying for Unlimited

Hi,
Welcome to the forum.
As Oldjim says looks like when we placed your fibre order we accidentally ordered 40/2 rather than 80/20, sorry about that. I've put an order in to switch you to 80/20 which should happen sometime tomorrow morning so you should see an increase in speed sometime tomorrow.

Re: Essentials Speed Paying for Unlimited

Speed has improved: 60/15 now. Much appreciated.
However it would seem that the profile of the line is at 60 rather than 80.

As I'm receiving a solid 60 will there be any benefit in increasing this?
Cheers
Phil

Re: Essentials Speed Paying for Unlimited

The IP profile is a direct calculation from the achieved sync speed not the other way round
