Early Activation?

My activation date is set for Monday 3rd December. As of this morning my router is syncing with the exchange but the internet light is remaining red as Plusnet are yet to activate my account.
I have spoken to customer service who say early activation is not possible but have also read threads on this forum where people have had their accounts activated early. Does anyone know what the answer is? I work from home so am keen to be activated ASAP so I can dump the 3G dongle!

Hi there,
I've enabled your account.
The reason that we are wary of doing so is that it means that your billing for your broadband also starts from this point, although there is a possibility that your connection may not work until your actual activation date.
Let us know if all works out well.
