Drop out/low upload.

My net keeps dropping out and my upload keeps dropping to the low 100kbps for the last 10 days.
I've had to reset the router a few times lately to try and get the upload back up but never more then once in a day.
I would put a ticket through but it always ends up interleaving getting turned back on and before anyone says it the line has been very stable with it off for the last year.
Seems to be once a year around the same time I have to complain Smiley

Re: Drop out/low upload.

If this problem occurs each year at a similar time can you think of anything that happens around this time that could be responsible for the problem? For example street lights or security lights coming on earlier?
Presumably in time the problem goes away - does it just fade away or is something specific done to fix it?

Re: Drop out/low upload.

Your connection and speed profile seems to be running fine at the moment from what I can see. Are you connecting wireless?
Below is a log of your connection.

Let me know how your getting on.

Re: Drop out/low upload.

I'd suggest removing the IP address from the screen dump!
Drops to zero shown by router stats often mean that router stats was unable to get the data from the router, not that your internet connection dropped.

Re: Drop out/low upload.

I have a problem highly reminiscent of yours on the (non-Plusnet) line where I am working today.  Noise spikes on the line which are occasionally large enough to force the router to re-sync coupled with poor and inconsistent upload speeds (this is 20CN/ADSL with upstream speed set to 888kbps).
So if you ever find out the cause of the problem, please post it here.

Re: Drop out/low upload.

Are you sure about that - you don't get ADSL2 or 888kbps upstream on 20CN and on 21CN that tells you that the upstream is interleaved

Re: Drop out/low upload.

Absolutely sure about the upload speed, Oldjim.  I'm on the Caxton exchange today.  It's a business line and the maximum upload speed is not the standard domestic 444 kbps but, I presume, twice this.  Plusnet offer the same option to their business customers on 20CN - for a small price premium.
But of course, I meant ADSL Max not ADSL2.  I'll modify the original post.

Re: Drop out/low upload.

Max premium is upload 832kbps and they only have MaxDSL available - no ADSL2

Re: Drop out/low upload.

Okay, I think we are there now - not quite twice 444kbps and Max Premium.  All these marketing names get me confused.  Feel free to use your powers as Moderator to tidy up these posts.

Re: Drop out/low upload.

Don't worry - I had to google it to find the speed as I couldn't remember  Smiley
