I have replaced the faulty filter which was causing the drops in connection with the phone. However i am still getting some frequent drops (ie i've had 2 in the last hour) for which i can't pinpoint a reason for.

That's still looking very intermittent. If the router's in the master socket and the fault still happens then run through the wizard at http://faults.plus.net and we'll get it investigated for you. If there is noise on the line when you're using the phone then run through the faults wizard and it'll pop the ticket out to the appropriate faults team (phone faults as opposed to broadband).
