Down to low speeds over the last few hours (even for a dial-up).

For the past few hours my speed has been very slow on and off.
At the moment as I type it's virtually zero, web pages aren't loading.  I phoned the broadband service status line but it's a little vague.  Network maintenance, does this apply to the whole of the UK?  How long is this likely to last for?

I believe traffic management work is over running and the latest estimate for completion is 10am.
