Disconnects and resync every morning

For the last week or so my TG585v8 has been disconnected and resynchronised every morning about 6 45, usually to a lower speed. This morning it synched to the same speed. The other times I have done a soft disconnect and rebooted to my normal speed of 5888 downstream as the attachment.
What is causing it?
Is this a normal function of DLM?
Can it be stopped?

I may be using incorrect terms but what does the above log tell me. 45.43 DSL linestate down, 45.59 DSL linestate up? and Routerstats has shown me the interruption and resync at a lower speed every morning for a week except this morning. Its as if DSL is trying to switch my router to a lower speed

Re: Disconnects and resync every morning

Hi Peter,
It does seem like there's been more disconnections than we're picking up. At this point I can only suggest the normal diagnostics for dropping connection and failing that then raising a fault would probably be your best bet.

Re: Disconnects and resync every morning

HI Peter,
Without getting it tested I couldn't tell you what is happening. It could be numerous things. You'd think with doing the job I do that I would analyse my line and see if I could squeeze the last drop of performance out of it. But my philosophy is, unless I notice poor performance of my usually decent connection I don't really care what my stats are. I think, sometimes, if you monitor everything that goes on all day, you're going to see things that make you wonder.
I'm the same with my speed. My speed has fluctuated between 14-18Mbps over the last couple of months. I can honestly say that I don't see any difference, even with three of us online. Anyway, enough of my rambling. I just think sometimes you're better off not knowing.

Re: Disconnects and resync every morning

Hi JoJo
It's not a problem at the moment, so I'll monitor it and see if it bottoms out. All the times Ive seen it happen it always comes back at a lower speed which concerns me.

Re: Disconnects and resync every morning

Hi PeterLoftus,
SNR is 12.5 at the minute. I take it you have been in the test socket during this time?

Yes, thats its premanant place now (i have 1980s wiring so its not actually a test socket)  Roll_eyes

Re: Disconnects and resync every morning

Dear team
See below, it seems to me that the SNR is jumping about too much  Huh
Should it be more stable? Is it a setting issue or have i got a fault that's causing it  Angry

Re: Disconnects and resync every morning

Hi there,
It looks like there might be a dropping connection issue causing the slow speeds, which would also explain the jumps and changes in SNR. Given that's the case it's almost certainly a fault so you've done the right thing by raising a ticket.

Re: Disconnects and resync every morning

Matt
The phone line seems sound, no problem with any phone calls.
It seemed to me that when I asked for a retrain a couple of months ago it never finished and the SNR is trying to get to 6dB. it goes up to 13 then down to 3 at which it disconnects.
Could it be that something which shoud have been turned off is still on  Huh

Re: Disconnects and resync every morning

Hi Peter,
I don't think we should make any assumptions, it can often lead us in the wrong direction. I think the best thing is to see what the faults team come up with. I'm out of ideas myself.
