Dial up speed tonight

Just a note to say I logged in tonight to play EvE On-line and everything ground to a halt.
Did some speed checks and although I have a 4000 Mb/s profile the BT speedtest reports 15 Kb/s download speed.
Exchange check reports all green no problems.
Gateway check reports the problem pcl-ag03 gateway that I see often reported as causing problems.
Will give up for tonight (time is 9:48) and switch everything off to allow the connection to reset overnight.
Will try again in the morning and see what I get.
Regards to all with speed problems, hang on in there, P  Wink

Re: Dial up speed tonight

Will be interesting to see what your connection's like tomorrow? With an IP profile of 4000kbps I'd expect to see much higher speeds than this, even on one of the more congested gateways.

Re: Dial up speed tonight

As I said last night these are my settings this morning, everything back to as normal as my line gets.
Note the change of gateway.
Download speed achieved during the test was - 3537 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600-7150 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :5024 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 4000 Kbps
Gateway: pte-ag2
Profile: still 4000 Kb/s
I must admit we as a family have suffered reduced speeds during the evening from about 6 PM onwards to around 11 PM but last night was the worst download speed since BT cut my line and took 6 months to fix it years ago  :o.
As a rural user we expect download speeds to suffer during wet weather or the winter months and we have no problems with that it’s just part of our rubbish underground cabling but 15 Kb/s was a bit slow even for our line  :D.
