Quick question for anyone with prior experience, when did your router from PN arrive when requesting a fibre install?
Im due to have a FTTC connection on Tuesday, next week - placed the order almost a couple of weeks ago, when should I expect the router to be delivered?

They are normally dispatched 3 working days before the activation/install. I've manually set it to dispatch now so you'll receive it in the next few days.

Simple question - why is it PN policy to wait until the last minute to supply the router? Why not send it out as soon as the order is placed?
Actually, this happened with my order in December 2012...

There's a few reasons, including orders being cancelled and the configuration of the router on our TR069 system (this isn't done immediately).

Thanks Chris.
Ill get it a day later than planned anyway, because its likely that it wont fit in the mail box we have on the gates, so Ill need to go and collect it from the depot the following morning

So the non-customer has to send the router back...

As long as the TR069 system is updated before the day of activation that doesn't matter.
Be interesting to know what the stats are on customers having to contact your stretched support resources to chase up a router that they expected to receive in good time for the service date...

It's a fine balance. There is a reason the set up guide tells you not to plug in the router until you are activated. 😕 If it's too early, it can lead to problems later on.
