No! Not another Midsomer Murder Blockbuster - Just my connection. It's something to do with the general Broadband connection because it doesn't really matter which named supplier we have. Although it has only cropped up in the last year or so. Round about a quarter past midnight - or maybe a little later (so far not yet tonight) - Our connection will die and take a lot of fiddling with to reset - sometimes it just won't and you take that as a cue to go to bed. Last night even Plusnet Assist was having trouble diagnosing the fault. Does anyone experience anything similar?

Sometimes there is BT engineering work at around about that time. There's not much you can do about it, just have to wait until the work has been done.
That's RPM to you!!

Yes, I have that at the back of my mind. (Along with the paper cups and other junk in there).

Could you elaborate on what you have to do as what you say there is making me suspect your router as that should restore the connection itself after it drops really.
I just ran a report of your connection logs for the last week, it's not really showing any issues around midnight but do you turn your router off between about 2.30am and 10am? If so it might be wise to avoid that as it looks like it's inhibiting the speed of your connection too.

Ooooh!! You naughty thing! Showing off our personal bits like that! I notice it shows the times when we've reset the connection after this has happened. There are no problems throughout the day, just at this specific point - usually between 12 and 1.
It's oddly enough, something that happened under the Post Office (and Virgin too) I think. 4-5 years ago. I suspect that it's rather like the way the lights dim in rural areas after the 10 o'clock news ends as everyone makes a cup of tea.
Not a great problem really.

Hi Ado16,
I would see how your connection is once you have left your router switched on and hopefully there will be an improvement.
Let us know how it goes.
Chris
