Re: Daily disconnections.

I am currently using the HH4 as I really need the dual band WiFi. The log is fairly detailed and you can see what is going on but it is not supported by RouterStats. The target SNR needs to stay on 6dB for a least a week and if the result is a stable connection it needs to stay that way!

Re: Daily disconnections.

After a weekend of unreliable and intermittent Internet access with the Target SNR back at 3dB still no answer to my question posted to support on Friday as to why? By the way, is there something wrong with the open questions page? My posting of Friday last is now replicated three times but I have only posted once.

Re: Daily disconnections.

I'll request the change back to 6db now. If it drops back to 3 again then we may need to see if we can get this hard set.

Re: Daily disconnections.

As soon as the SNR went back up to 6dB everything dramatically improved. Please keep it that way!

Re: Daily disconnections.

This morning I have had another e-mail from you saying the you are arranging for Interleaving to be turned on. You suggested this before even though I was under the impression that it was already on. As it is working fine now please don't mess things up 🙂

Re: Daily disconnections.

I have been waiting patiently for an update since I was told that Interleaving was going to be turned on. Meanwhile my connection to the Internet remains unreliable. As I have not had any emails or texts and today having to reset the Router once again to get a usable connection I thought I would check the status of my question. However, it is no longer there!
Do I have to raise another question or what?

Is there a reason for no CRT touch here please?  Huh

Re: Daily disconnections.

Since my last post and the router re-boot my connection has been completely stable - long may it continue!

12:04:27, 27 Mar. ( 445.060000) DSL noise margin: 13.00 dB upstream, 6.00 dB downstream
12:04:26, 27 Mar. ( 444.370000) DSL line rate: 828 Kbps upstream, 12246 Kbps downstream

Re: Daily disconnections.

Here we go again!

After a completely stable service since 27 March with no disconnections at all PPOA went down:

04:15:03, 19 Apr. (1959457.250000) PPPoA is down after 32650 minutes uptime [Disconnected]
04:15:03, 19 Apr. (1959457.170000) PPP LCP Send Termination Request [Peer not responding]

I am now back to a VERY unreliable service with multiple errors and time outs. At times it is almost impossible to complete a speed test and pages often fail to load.

However, I have realised something: The day of the start of stable service started the day after my neighbour moved out and the return to poor service started the day before a new tenant moved in.Looking back to when my problem originally started it coincided with the original tenant moving in next door and them having a huge problem getting a working phone and Internet connection.

Surely this can't be a coincidence can it?

Re: Daily disconnections.

Hi Custos,

Oh sad times!

Without current detailed monitoring as undertaken previously with the TG585 it is difficult to say for sure, but it does rather look like something in the neighbouring property is causing REIN issues.  It could be nearly anything - TV, Central Heating controls, fridge, Sky box... the list goes on.

It could be something of the property itself or it could be something which both tenants had / have - for example a Sky box.

How friendly are the new tenants?  Any change to can start a discussion with them?  "Can you help me, I thing there is something in your property which is messing with my internet connection ... and might well be degrading yours too ... can we help each other to get a better internet experience?".

Re: Daily disconnections.

OK Townman - thank you. However perhaps I was wrong. I was getting such random problems all day today I eventually gave up and reset the Router:

14:37:31, 25 Apr. ( 64.030000) DSL noise margin: 12.80 dB upstream, 6.40 dB downstream
14:37:30, 25 Apr. ( 63.340000) DSL line rate: 828 Kbps upstream, 14336 Kbps downstream
14:36:05, 25 Apr. (2515112.500000) PPP LCP Send Termination Request [User request]

Everything is now back to normal and working well so I will wait and see how it goes 🙂
