Re: Daily disconnections.

Thanks Chris and Townman, That's looking better already. I would like to go back to the Home Hub 4 (dual band) as soon as possible. I could not decide if RouterStats would work with that as it only mentions up to the HomeHub 3 and a different  version for 5.

Re: Daily disconnections.

Until we see how the line is performing (say 72 hours at least) please stay with the TG585.
We know it works with router stats.
It provides excellent stats.
We do not want to be dropping the line more than necessary whilst Chirs applies changes.
@Chris, is this SNRM change / reset with or without the 10 day training period please?

Re: Daily disconnections.

It wasn't a full reset, so no 10 day period needed.

Re: Daily disconnections.

What happened at 16:37 - was that a phone call?
Can you please right click on the DS graph and tick "Plot Rx synch speed"?

Re: Daily disconnections.

I am not aware of anything happening at 1637 yesterday - definitely no phone call. As regards RouterStats, it a complex program that I have never used before so I am struggling to understand all the options. I note that there was a re-set during the night:

It looks like I lost sync at the same time:

Re: Daily disconnections.

Yup, that all looks sound - if you check the tx sped, I think you'll find that's when the uncap was applied.
RS does indeed have a lot of options and they change depending on the selected router.  The link below has some good rule of thumb settings, however in your case, double the max SYNCH rate for the Rx speed graph.

Re: Daily disconnections.

Just when I thought I could relax:
All has been working well without any problems at all until today at 11:13 when the connection was reset and reverted to a 3dB target SNR and a higher sync speed. Why?

Re: Daily disconnections.

@CRT,
It's a good question... Unusual for the usually aggressive DLM to move a line into an area of known marginality!

Re: Daily disconnections.

Once again SNR is dropping well below 3dB and once again multiple errors are causing intermittent loss of Internet availability whilst the system desperately tries to maintain a connection. I had to do a reset this morning to be able to use it at all and am now connected at a slower speed than I was when the target SNR was 6dB.

Re: Daily disconnections.

Is this the 585v8? If so, some of those very high error counts are probably spurious, and the SNRM is only reported to the nearest 0.5 dB.
It should be expected really, that the DLM will change things back to how it was before the target SNRM was manually adjusted, if nothing else related to the line has changed.
