That puts more weight behind the inclination that it's the Ellacoyas that have been causing the intermittent problems.
I'll get a Service Status out however we're hoping this will will die down before long. We're going to reload all of the switches tomorrow morning which will hopefully provide a permanent resolution to these issues.
If you're having difficulties then continue to post here. It would be helpful to know what gateway you're on...

I some times have a slow response that results in a time out and a page not being loaded. This happened this morning when trying to log into MSN Messenger and also when trying to get on to the BBC web site. Two failures for MSN and four before I was able to get to the BBC.
I followed your earlier post and checked my DNS servers, then did a trace route and then a nslookup, please see below for results.
Hope this helps,
Rob

I went to network diagnostics for XP but it did not detect any problems.
Fortunately this problem seemed to resolve itself quite quickly. Hopefully it won't recur.

Morning all,
We have decided that an immediate staggered reload of the switches is the best course of action, we are currently going through the change management process and should commence the reloads in the next half hour or so.

just wondering as i have latency issues on the trial at the mo and were trying out somthing new today and if latency improves it might be the switches or the somthing new that might solve the latency

Quote from: ASBO is thn-ag2 inclueded in this?.
The switches we are reloading are invisible to users - so it wont come up in a traceroute. thn-ag2 (aggregator) is where your adsl session terminates.
if that is congested then you may see latency but ive had a look at it and it appears to be fine!
