DHCP/IP Address Config Query

Can anyone advise on reconfiguring the DHCP/IP address set-up (see below) in my Technicolor Gateway TG582nn FTTC router?
IP Address/Mask  Type
10.0.0.138/24        Static
192.168.1.254/24  Static
192.168.1.253        Content Sharing
DHCP Pool Name  Address Range                          Gateway
LAN_private            192.168.1.64 - 192.168.1.252    192.168.1.254
LAN_VIRT              192.168.1.253 - 192.168.1.253  192.168.1.254
I would like to ensure that certain devices (eg a PC workstation or a wireless repeater) are assigned the same/static IP address based on their MAC address but am not too familiar with the router supplied by PlusNet and the possible implications (given the automatic hardware setup (TR59) system that appears to be enabled).
In particular:
- How can I associate the device's MAC address to an IP address?
- Could I assign 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.63 as static IP addresses without needing to change the current (DHCP pool) configuration above?
- Would I need to modify the LAN_private DHCP pool's address range and/or set up another DHCP pool to achieve my aims?
Thanks in anticipation.

Just tick "always use the same IP address" in the routers network settings if you want the device to always use it's present IP address.
Or if yo wish to assign a specific IP address within the DHCP pool:

You use those addresses by assigning them in the devices own network settings, that is what is normally called a static IP address.
IF you wish IP's in that range to be assigned by DHCP then you need to change the routers DHCP pool to include that IP range.

If I understand you question correctly, you will need to change the LAN_private pool range from 192.168.1.[64-252] to 192.168.1.[1-63] to assign IP in that range by DHCP.

Re: DHCP/IP Address Config Query

Thanks for your help.
I was trying to assign IP addresses based on the MAC addresses of all attached devices but will try your suggestions.
Thanks.

The above link will do that, but only for IP's within the routers DHCP pool. You can change the DHCP pool range to suit.
