Re: Customer Relationship Management - do you care?...

Actually, if you have a mobile phone which when you dial the numbers makes the tones, you can hold it to the microphone /  hand piece of a keypadless phone and it should still dial the numbers.
There are also dtmf applications for most mobile phones Wink

Well.. I don't have a corded phone with a number pad, just one for listening to dial tones.

A bit of a strange device, but until a phone handset can be obtained, the number cannot be dialled.

Did he say he didn't have a cordless phone with a number pad?

Re: Customer Relationship Management - do you care?...

Hi Jelv,
I'm not sure exactly what you're suggesting... I'm confusing myself in reading the double negatives of both the OP's comment and your question - something which can be too easy to do when statements are about what people do not have, rather than what the ONLY have!  Crazy

Translated as: "I do not have a corded phone which has a number pad on which I can dial numbers, however I do have a device (possibly corded) with which I can listen to the dial tone"

I don't think he actually said this (cannot find "cordless" in the thread), but this statement would be logically true if the device "for listening to dial tones" is the only device similar to a phone he possesses: not only does he not have a corded phone with a number pad, he also does not have a cordless phone with a number pad!
No I'm not intentionally try to take the P, just not sure what you were trying to say!

Re: Customer Relationship Management - do you care?...

I think the situation is that his normal phones are cordless and his response was to the suggestion of dialling 17070 using a corded phone. You've all jumped to the conclusion that he doesn't have a device capable of dialling 1571.

Re: Customer Relationship Management - do you care?...

Stu001,
If you have any phone device capable of dialling a number (corded or cordless) use that to deal with the message waiting tone (1571) and give the quiet line test a try 17070 option 2.  If there is gross noise on the line, that should be adequate to confirm a voice line problem.  If it is just a hissy then you'll need a corded phone for the quiet line test.

Re: Customer Relationship Management - do you care?...

If there is noise when trying 17070 and you are not sure if it's your phone you could check it by trying it on a friends line.

Re: Customer Relationship Management - do you care?...

I do have a corded handset.
It does not have a dial pad and therefore I cannot dial from it.
I do not normally connect anything at all to the line with the exception of the router.
I called Plusnet support yesterday and was told that they could see issues with noise on my line.
The expected timescale for completing some work on it was given as this Friday.
Failing that they have said they will arrange an engineer visit.
I did, however, receive an automated mail this morning which reads:
"internal note]
A modify order on this account was unsuccessful.
The reason given was "Order already exists for the same line identifier ServiceId BBEUxyxyxyxyxy".
Modify order type:
Please check why the order has been rejected and contact the customer."
Anybody know what that is?
thanks.

Re: Customer Relationship Management - do you care?...

I suggest you look in the charity shops for a corded phone - you'll probably pick one up for £1 or less!

Re: Customer Relationship Management - do you care?...

Looks like our system tried to place an automated order which wasn't required and therefore failed. I've altered the settings to stop this from happening now. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
