My Thompson router gives a max bandwidth of 10088 and a bandwidth of 9400. This with a SNR 0f 6.0 and a line attenuation of 37.
It looks as though the PN current line speed is stuck on 4.5Mb. Can you have a look at this please.
Thanks Mike

I've raised that to 8200 now to allow for your BT IP profile. You should see the increase shortly.

I did a restart of my router just under 4 hours ago as my upload speed seemed very low, 150-250kbps . Have a look at the error figures below they seem frighteningly large!

I've got a spare router in a drawer somewhere think I'll give that a try.

Have you tried a different filter and is it in the test socket?

I have one of the new master socket covers with filters built-in. This is a second, separate, phone line into the house connected directly to the computer with a fax machine in the second cover socket. removing this does not seem to make any difference. I could try connecting a second filter in-line if you think that will help.

I'm getting confused by what you are saying here. Do you have two totally separate phone lines each with it's own number? Could you fully describe what sockets you have and what is in each (including filters) please.

I have two seperate phone lines into my house. All internal phones are connected to one line. As I work from home I have a second telephone line (different telephone number) connected directly to my home office, The master socket is located about 1m from my computer. Broadband is fed to this telephone number only and I have fitted the NTE5A Bt master socket with a NTE2000 faceplate, this allows me to have one RJ11/45 to connect to the computer and a telephone connection which I connect to a fax machine. These are the only connections to this line. The NTE2000 faceplate has filters built in and allows the RJ connection to connect directly to the master socket connector. Link to faceplate http://www.run-it-direct.co.uk/BTNTE5ADSLfaceplate.html.
I have tried a different router and noticed a slightly lower download speed but the same upload speed 250kbps. Download speed is 7700kbps on the Thompson router which I have reconnected.
Hope this clarifies my setup.
Mike
