Current Line Speed problem again....

I experienced a very significant drop in speed from Saturday. I ran a BT speedtest with the following results:-
Download speed achieved during the test was - 2201 Kbps
Your DSL Connection Rate :17961 Kbps
IP Profile for your line is - 15846 Kbps
I've checked my 'current line speed' and it's showing 2.5mb
This happened a couple of months ago and PN amended the IP profile which resolved the problem - have asked for the same to be done again (via question/ticket) but nothing has happened and no feedback. Have re-run the speedtest and am still seeing the same sort of stats. Aarrgghh!

Looking at your connection, it seems to be dropping out frequently which is preventing your line speeds to increase. As you can see from the connection log below, your line appears to be frequently dropping out.

Can you confirm if you are connected to the BT test socket at the moment?.

as such PlusNet's profile is not going to follow it automatically , it needs manually setting.
it looks like your line is in the DLM Quantisation project.

Hi Spencer - have now connected router direct to BT test socket via filter. Drop outs have only started in the last few days, as you can see, prior to that the line speed was 10mb+ for the past two months.

Your fault is back with the faults team and will get picked up shortly, looks like it's still dropping in the test socket so definitely a line fault there. We'll get you an update on there as soon as we can.

That's something we're looking at doing. It's in hand but needs a project in which it'll fit, we'll keep you posted. I wouldn't expect anything particularly soon though.
