Re: Contention or Throttling?

It's actually done at the DSLAM on your exchange.
Off to go and place the order to remove it now.

Re: Contention or Throttling?

Hi,
Just a quick note to say that by turning off the interleaving everything is now fine.  My pings are now about 6-10 which is amazing considering they were around 100-150.
Thanks very much,
Steve

It's essentially something that improves stability and causes latency (ping times) to increase, but isn't needed on decent lines.

what is classed as a "decent line"? i am assuming interleaving is on as standard?
here are my current line stats, but im not on plusnet until friday. i am just curious more than anything else.

Re: Contention or Throttling?

I would have thought yours was a decent line but you will only really be able to tell when you are out on MaxDSL - note it would be worth asking PlusNet if that is happening automatically  as you seem to be on a fixed speed connection at present

Re: Contention or Throttling?

Hi there,
The order has been placed to automatically place you onto the IPStream Max upto 8Mbps service.
So we'll see how it performs once your connection with us goes live Smiley
