Constant Disconnects

I'm not sure if this is an issue with the line or exchange in general, or something to do with my BT Voyager 2110 Router. Tonight at around 8.00pm I started experience constant repeating disconnects, which have yet to let up. The router pick up connection for three to four minutes, drop it, go through handshaking and establish a connection again for a few minutes, only to drop it again. Everything worked perfectly until around 8.00pm, when it all started to go a bit wrong, which is why it all seems a bit odd. I've also noticed since this time that my downstream has dropped to around 2.8mb/s down from the usual 7 ish.

It's rather frustrating trying to do anything online right now, since the connection doesn't last more than a couple of minutes if it even manages to sync up with my pc before it is dropped again.
Looking for any thoughts or advice. Any help at all is appreciated.
Cheers.

Re: Constant Disconnects

Have you checked if your phone is working OK (no noise on the line).

Re: Constant Disconnects

Well I've just checked and yes there is quite some noise (crackling) on the phone line.

Re: Constant Disconnects

That will be the cause of your broadband problems. You MUST report a VOICE fault to whoever you pay for your telephone rental, NOT a broadband fault.
When the crackling has been fixed the broadband should sort itself out.
