Conservative IP Profile?

I've just transferred from SKY 40/10  package to Plusnet's 80/20 on Monday 10th March. Is DLM run on fibre as it is ADSL?
I've just checked my IP profile which is:
38.72 Mbps Down
10 Mbps Up
Am I in a 10 day training period? I would just like to check and if this is the case, not a problem.

Re: Conservative IP Profile?

seems that your profile hasn't been update for 80 / 20,  Plusnet staff should be able to switch it to the correct profile and you should see the speed etc go to where it should be.

Re: Conservative IP Profile?

It looks as though you have been migrated on a like for like product and Plusnet will need to get this changed
It isn't a profile problem per se

Re: Conservative IP Profile?

Hi bobbyrabbit,
I'm sorry to hear you've been placed on the wrong speed profile.
I've placed the order to modify this for you and this should complete on Monday. You should then see a slight increase in speeds. Smiley

Re: Conservative IP Profile?

Thanks Linn
The IP profile has been changed to:
43.99Mbps down
20Mbps Up
Do you have to change anything your end as I am still seeing 40Mbps download speeds? I hasten to add I'm not expecting much more than that:
Speedtest was:
36.82 down
11.59 up

Re: Conservative IP Profile?

I've just made some changes to your Speed Profile on our systems.
A quick restart of your router should be enough for the speed change to take effect.

Re: Conservative IP Profile?

Hi Chris
Thanks for that, I have had a boost in speed.
All in all, I'm a little disappointed that my speeds are as slow as that (not Plusnet's fault). I'm not entirely sure what cabinet my line is being sent to, but the nearest double cabinet to me is just 250m away. How would you find out this out? Unfortunately, the engineer didn't turn up on my activation date last week , I could have asked him.
I seem to remember just over 2 years ago when I was connected to fibre that the installation engineer said I could get a pretty near max speed of 80Mbps!

Re: Conservative IP Profile?

Is that via Ethernet? If not, can you try via Ethernet?
