Connects to router instead of internet

I have had a problem accessing the internet on some occasions that when I click any shortcut on the favourite bar of IE 11 or Edge instead of going to the website of the shortcut it just shows the log in to my router instead! I have closed IE 11 or Edge and reopened it again and it just goes to the log in to my router instead!
Can anyone please explain why?

Normally you would only be taken to the router interface if there is a problem with the connection. I would try a factory reset of the plus net router though just in case this is some other software problem first.
