Re: Connection Drops Part 2

well, i have been asked to pick a time for a engineer to sort it out, gave a reply (2/2/11) heard nothing back.
Is my line banded or something because i cant get past 3.2mb i dont know how to imporve it, Am i on the right traffic management profile or whatever it is or is there anything on plusnests side of things thats wrong?
Also can i have my upstream back to 443 as i heard it can do more harm than good.
Becasue if i get a engineer out and he/she says its fine, then it must be something on your system as i have had the router in and out of the test socket since before christmas now and its getting beyond a joke.
cheers

Re: Connection Drops Part 2

Engineer just been out, Master socket fine, Extention in the house is fine, he said its completly fine.
He showed me a little testing machine and it said that i should be getting 6.5mb as i have only and have ever had 4.0 max with plusnet.
He says i have interleaving on again too.
No problems my side of things so i dont know what to do now .
Thanks
Lee

HI Lee,
Yes, I've just ran a check and the line has been banded. I'll get that lifted this afternoon and see how it goes. I'll let you know how it goes.

Re: Connection Drops Part 2

HI Y2J,
I don't know why it does that to be honest, it should stay the same. Once this banding is lifted I'll place an order to cap the upstream and we'll see if we can then get the best out of your line.

Hi Y2J,
I've just placed the order to cap the upstream and the banding should be lifted by now.

Re: Connection Drops Part 2

HI Y2J,
it's not on our list of defined games but doesn't mean to say it won't be prioritised.
In that thread Dave suggests "If you are experiencing a problem with a specific game that isn't listed here, please raise a ticket confirming the name of the game, the port(s) that it uses and if possible (where applicable) the IP addresses of any central servers the game uses."
The banding's definitely been lifted otherwise your sync rate would not be as high as it is. We just need to be patient now and not reboot.
