I use broadband to gain access to a second property to monitor various things there. Previously it had a dynamic IP address, which changed every day as the router is re-booted by a time switch at 0400. To get round this I was using DtDNS which has recently ceased operations. So last week I requested a change to a Static IP address, which appears to have been successful as I can view the new address under Connection Settings. (This service should have been provided free as I previously had a static IP when I was with MAAF, but that is a different story...) The web site says other settings will stay the same, however now I cannot make contact with the router or any of the other hardware at the property. What has gone wrong? What can I do to fix it remotely?
