Change to Plusnet Fibre

I've just signed up to receive Plusnet fibre Essentials package and would like some advice.
At present I have a 5th generation (6 months old) Airport Extreme linked to a TP Link TD8816 modem - will that be suitable for the connection?
The master socket is a long way from my Mac and I currently connect to an extension which is only 2 feet away - will that still be OK to receive fibre bearing in mind that the house connection will still be by copper.
I'll be pleased if the response is in non-technical terms.

Re: Change to Plusnet Fibre

Hi there,
Welcome to Plusnet and our community forums.
On the day of the install the engineer would provide an Openreach Modem, you can either use your Airport Extreme or the Technicolor router that we provide.
The engineer can install a data extension cable that would replace the extension you're currently using, this will give you the best results for your connection.
