Re: Can't get into my seedbox

I asked the question about VPN and got this reply.

Dear customer,
VPN is based on the same server where you have a seedbox so if you can't connect to the server you won't be able to use a VPN too. Please report your problem to your ISP, you can't do anything yourself. They must fix it because it's problem with routing on their side.
Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Re: Can't get into my seedbox

Not very useful then.
Problem is that it might not actually be Plusnet's fault it could be a routing problem on one of the networks between PlusNet and your provider
In one of those traceroutes it gets as far as leaseweb and then seems to get dropped.
It gets interesting when it's a routing issue in someone elses network since unless it's a carrier Plusnet have a direct relationship with they probably don't have any contract between themselves and the other network operator at most they can ask the other operators NOC if they'd mind taking a look at it.  But in most cases the other carrier isn't obliged to.

Re: Can't get into my seedbox

I keep having this thought about MTU size!
I found this
Quote
Symptoms
An incorrect MTU setting on your router can often cause websites to load incorrectly with errors, or not at all. This usually occurs with dynamic or secure web pages. Most pages will load fine, but some financial websites, and web based email (ex: Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail) won’t load correctly.

Hope it helps

Re: Can't get into my seedbox

The thing it was working fine for few months without any issues and I didn't change any settings at all i.e MTU size, firewall settings etc.
I tried different router this morning and manage to access the seedbox but it only lasted 10 mins before it stopped so it's definately not my router.
I can ping seedhost.eu fine but I can't ping my server freak.seedhost.eu

Re: Can't get into my seedbox

It's really weird that you can see it, then not.    The other people on this thread who also can't see their seedboxes, do they have the same problem with it being intermittent?
This doesn't sound like routing.

Re: Can't get into my seedbox

How are you getting on with this inam? just wondering if you've been able to try anything else out such as try another router?

Thanks for asking Adam however no luck what so ever, tried different router as well with no luck. Thinking about getting different seedbox with somebody else now.
