I try to set up a new broadband contract with Plusnet but it says I need a MAC code to precess my order, but the previous broadband service with BE is cancelled now(but it has not been cancelled when I placed the Plusnet order), so they will not give me a MAC code. What can I do?

If you no longer have any broadband you should be able to place an order without a MAC code.

Ahh but if the isp's tag is still on the line this would prevent a migration , Make take a few weeks to be removed
Did you not request a MAC code when you presumably gave BE the 30 days notice to cancel your bb, did they not offer/send you a MAC via e-mail ? also if you just cancelled because you didn't want bb any more they will have charged you a bb cease fee around £35 iirc
Have you rung them RE MAC code to see if they did send you a code or not
