Can someone please explain why my plusnet profile has dropped today ?

I ask this as there has been no dlm intervention today , so why has my plusnet ip profile  plummeted from a 73 .2 ish  sync earlier today to a sub 70mbps sync now ? Can a plusnet staff member  please investigate this for me,

What's your IP Profile vs Plusnet Profile?

Re: Can someone please explain why my plusnet profile has dropped today ?

Well if BTW  perf tester would work and display my  real IP profile i would tell you, but it's fubard"Your speed test has completed and the results are shown above, however during the test an error occurred while trying to retrieve additional details regarding your service. As a result we are unable to determine if the speed you received during the test is acceptable for your service. Please re-run the test if you require this additional information." just gives this generic error message,

There was a loss of PPPOE session at around 6pm tonight and the GW that i was on PTN AG03 changed to PTN AG02  here is the routers log from that time, the time is 1 hr slow for some reason

LCP terminated by peer indicates that  this was a plusnet side Drop in PPPOE , before this my speeds where higher  by some 5mbps !!!!!

Re: Can someone please explain why my plusnet profile has dropped today ?

I will now show my ignorance
How does the router know if it was only a PPP drop or a modem resync

Re: Can someone please explain why my plusnet profile has dropped today ?

Losing PPP at 18:00 will result in a lower reconnection, it always does in the evenings, try a manual reconnection early tomorrow morning, say about 08:00 and it will go back up.

Re: Can someone please explain why my plusnet profile has dropped today ?

@ I'm on FTTC 80/20 uses a separate modem, so no loss of sync  just PPPOE session , unlike adsl using a combined router modem, My plusnet  IP profile has been decreased that's to only thing that has changed latency is  still +7-8ms  more than it was before DLM  reduced the sync last week and applied interleaving , since then  apart from  this PPPOE session drop, (which was quicker than normal) the only other drops in session where down to me hopping gateways and trying to get a direct connection from my PC to the OR modem to work, i have exhausted  just about every config  on my pc, but the two will not communicate with each other

Not sure how you can tell that. Peer doesn't naturally mean PN.
Are you 100% sure your modem didn't lose sync?
I would put money on DLM being responsible here due to line instability.

Re: Can someone please explain why my plusnet profile has dropped today ?

The only time yesterday that  my router lost sync  was because i powered it down 1 time to see if  it was stopping me being able to create a successful  direct PPPOE connection to my PC  and that was before midday and throughput  remained unchanged  following that until this 6pm event, that's when i also noticed that  my plusnet ip profile had decreased

Re: Can someone please explain why my plusnet profile has dropped today ?

But how do you know your Openreach modem did not lose sync?
If your PN Profile has decreased, then so will have your IP Profile.
I could be wrong here, but I think the IP Profile is set by the MSE/BRAS based on your sync speed (which is set by the FTTC MSAN/DSLAM). So for your IP Profile to have dropped, you must have lost sync.

@deathtrap
I've just tested your line and matched the profile on our side for you so you should see some slight improvement.

Re: Can someone please explain why my plusnet profile has dropped today ?

Adam, I have just called tech support, Because whatever that you did made no noticeable difference, My Plusnet IP profile was reset to the max 78mbps and now my throughput is back to where it was and where it should be following  the last intervention by DLM  some 5days or so ago ,
So I'm now getting the full throughput rate 8.6MB/s instead of only 8MB/s i got from 18:00 hrs last night
On another point  After cycling through several gateways  just before i phoned tech support  it would appear that  for some reason i'm locked to PCL or PTW  gateways apart from the the 2 BNG gateways that have no  customer facing visibility on numbers connected to them, The reason i suspect this is not only because PLC and PTW  keep on being offered, but when i did get onto a ptn gateway i was for only around 1minute yes 1 min , before i was automatically swapped  to a PCL gateway
What is going on ?
