IME a target SNR increase of 3db will shave around 800kbps off your sync speed.

I am using a netgear 834 (not with the DGteam firmware), and I agree with the later comment that the tweak you can do with the SNR does seem to help, but it seems like there is a tug of war between what the router is trying to achieve and what the line is set to. Probably better to get mine sorted with plusnet, and do any slight tweaking with the router if I have to....... Alternatively Plusnet could encourage BT to actually fix the fault with my line so I don't need this bodge?
Perhaps I expect too much? perhaps some people would kill for an IP profile of 135K for the 3 months since joining plusnet?
