I did a speed test as per the results below which seem to show that the line is slower than it should be. It has been worse although today is better than normal but probably due to the fact that every one is still in bed. Even during the day on a normal weekday when every one else is at work my speeds are slow. How does one go about getting this improved or rectified?
Download speedachieved during the test was - 5450 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600-7150 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :7648 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 6500 Kbps

There is really nothing in the test results to indicate your broadband is any slower than it should be. Your sync rate is 7648 kbps which means your IP Profile is set at the expected value of 6500 kbps. So 6500 is the fastest speed your line could possibly achieve at present. The test result of 5450 Kbps is a bit slower than that but that is perfectly normal; these test results are not highly accurate. And I don't think there is any situation where you would notice the difference between 6500 & 5450 kbps unless you are downloading a huge file with limited time to do it.
