Broadband speed varying through the day

Ticket raised 25249704
For the past few days now if I check my download speed I get about 6Mb early morning (6:30 - 7:00am) all running nicely. By the time I get home speed is down to 120kb where it remains for the rest of the evening.
Checked download using several speed checkers including BT.
Router suggests download speed is set to 8Mb.
I've disabled wireless to eliminate any issues there.
Nothing changes between morning and evening.
Why is the download speed varying so much?

A) what product are you on
B)how much of your allowance have you use
C)0700 hrs is in the free period 1600hrs is in the limited period - even more so if you are nearly used up your allowance.

I think you've hit the nail on the head.
I'm on PAYGo Option 2
I was under the impression that only Peer to Peer services got throttled but looking again I think that might be a different product.
Looking at my billing info for last month I did indeed go over the limit. I'm pretty staggered by how much over but since the statistics graphs don't seem to be working I can't check it.
Plus, my bill was paid on 21/05 so I should be back up to full speed again surely?

Ah, the penny has dropped.
According to my account I'm on PAYGo Option 2 but if I look at the billing information for recent invoices I'm clearly being charged (and presumably throttled) as though I'm on PAYGo Option 1.
Anyone around here from Metronet who can look into that please or do I contact support?

Right, eventually I think I have sorted out what's happened.
I AM being charged correctly for PayGo Option 2 (I was comparing prices with and without the dreaded VAT so made a mistake there).
In May I was charged for 7510MB additional download.
That does not take me to the Usage Ceiling so my speed should not have been throttled (max. additional download under Option 2 is 8649Mb).
Plus despite having paid the bill on 21/05 there still appear to be speed restrictions in place.

You're being incorrectly restricted from what I can see:

Thanks Bob. I did that 2 days ago and chased the helpdesk about it today - 25249704. I've just put a terse comment in it. Sorry, getting a bit impatient.

Come on guys it surely doesn't take this long to reset my profile. It's just gone 4pm and sure enough I'm down to 126k again. Ticket 25249704 has been open for ages now.

What does you PlusNet high speed broadband setting say, and also what does the BT speedtester say?

I did have a look earlier and I haven't, although my peak added to my off peak has gone over my peak allowance (I'm on BB+ about to change to BBYW though).  Could I be wrongly throttled?
