I have just joined plus net on a phone and broadband package which i have to say where both connected on the days they promised.... my only concern at the moment is the fact
im only getting test results of around 0.50 downloads and around 0.23 uploads ? I do realise it takes around 10 days to stablise. on the btwholesale test it does say max achievable speed 0.50 which concerne me a little ( Its taking ages to do any updates etc ) . My question to the forum should i be waiting till after 10 days or do i need to contact customer support sooner rather than later
Being of the older race im not street wise to all the internet settings etc etc and probably not the best at putting things in writing .

It's best to have the computer connected to the router by ethernet cable when doing tests rather than using a wireless connection.
What results do you get from this test >
http://speedtest.btwholesale.com/
Do the test then once you have got the result of that initial speed test click on the tab at the bottom of that page called "Further Diagnostics" and record the full results and post them back on here.

Many thanks for every ones replies i was expecting about 1.5 as told when I sined up, i have run the test as asked and posted below. ( hope i did it right) i guess if its the best i can get just have to put up with it though.
I have computer linked to router with cable .
1. Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
Download Speed
0.33 Mbps
0 Mbps 0.5 Mbps
Max Achievable Speed
Download speedachieved during the test was - 0.33 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 0.05 Mbps-0.5 Mbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :0.77 Mbps(DOWN-STREAM), 0.45 Mbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 0.35 Mbps
If you wish to discuss these results please contact your Broadband Service Provider.
If you are experiencing problems with specific applications, servers or websites please contact your Broadband Service Provider for assistance.
Your test has completed please close this window to exit the performance tester.
Please visit the FAQ if you are unable to understand the test results.
Notes:
If your download speed lies in this range then your connection seems to be working fine.
Notes:
The Download Speed is the average rate that was achieved during this test.
Notes:
Your line is configured to the maximum rate that it can support or at your chosen fixed rate, this is known as the line rate and would be viewed through your CPE software or in your router configuration.
Your IP profile is always less than the line rate and is normal on any network.

The IP profile doesn't match the sync speed if you were on 21CN so you must be on 20CN and it will take a couple of days to increase to 0.5Mbps
Referring to my original post - we need the stats from your router

One thing to check
If you go here http://usertools.plus.net/exchanges/ what does it say about WBC on 21CN
I note that your connection has only been up for about 1 hr 40 mins - you may have to wait another 3 days for the IP profile to change providing the line doesn't resync in the meantime
To see if we can improve things a bit - do you have a modern master socket with a removable lower part and can you describe your house telephone wiring - are there any more telephone points other than the master

I have been online since wednesday but did read to turn router on off about 3 times a day for first few days. The bt line comes into my bungalow underground which looks like some kind of armoured cable into a junction box outside, it then enters into the loft to a bt connection box... there are 2 extensions in bungalow both installed by bt at some time...........( only moved into property 2 weeks ago )
I have tried router in all three boxes ... all the same speeds.
Looks like ile just have to wait for fibre in village .......
