Re: Broadband is terribly slow

My provider has contacted me and told me that the issue has been fixed, could you perform a line reset please?
What should I do after the line reset, is there any necessary procedures, like resetting my router?
Thank you very much.

Re: Broadband is terribly slow

If you can provide your router stats as explained here we will be able to see if it has fixed it http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,96155.0.html

Re: Broadband is terribly slow

The good news is that a reset isn't needed
However you appear to be on 20CN and therefore your IP profile may take a couple of days before it picks up
Plusnet may be able to kick it into action.
As a check can you see what this says about your exchange and 21CN http://usertools.plus.net/exchanges/
However something is odd - the router reports your sync speed as 6.272kbps but the BT speedtest reports it as 5.89kbps
Which came first the speedtest or the router stats as if it was the router stats then can you check what the speed is now
If it was the speedtest than something is very wrong

Re: Broadband is terribly slow

The Router test came first, I essentially followed your list on the thread you linked.  Do you want me to post the router stats again?  What do you mean check it's speed?
Is it possible for Plusnet to kick it into action and how would I go about requesting this?  I need the internet as soon as possible.
I apologise for being impatient and thank you for your help.

Re: Broadband is terribly slow

Jim,
More to the point, these stats are from a resynch some 30+ hours ago PRIOR to the reported line issue resolution time.  I suggest a router restart sometime mid Saturday morning - certainly not during the hours of darkness.
Can new stats be posted please after a day time resynch.

Can you post them now as  well as I suspect that there has been a resync already

Re: Broadband is terribly slow

Synch rate is down a little, which is to be expected due to a night time resynch.
Error rate is a little more than might be expected, but it is night time.  Lets see what a resynch in the morning gives.

Re: Broadband is terribly slow

That explains the BT speedtest result - there must have been a resync between the first set of results and the BT speedtest

Re: Broadband is terribly slow

It is good
Now some other points
What does your exchange say about 21CN http://usertools.plus.net/exchanges/
What is the Current Line speed here https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=data_transfer_speed
Please run the BT speedtest - this is the quick way to get the IP profiles http://www.speedtest.btwholesale.com/PerformanceTesterWS/diagnostics.do

Re: Broadband is terribly slow

BT have advised that this exchange is enabled for WBC on 21CN - Direct copy and paste.
Estimated line speed:
There's no speed estimate currently held on your account.
Current line speed:
7.15 Mb
Download speed achieved during the test was - 0.41 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 0.05 Mbps-0.5 Mbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :7.97 Mbps(DOWN-STREAM), 0.45 Mbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 0.5 Mbps
Strange that it says I have two different IP Profiles, is the BT one wrong?  Also the acceptable range seems a little slow, I have gotten around 4MB download before.
