Broadband Speed

Hi everyone, fairly newish plus.net user here.
My details are as follows :-
Phone exchange:
    CLEVEDON
Estimated line speed:
79Mb (Download speed could vary depending on line conditions. Estimates are the maximum speeds that your phone line can support. These speeds are dependent on the package you choose.) - Checked on 2013-12-17 17:37:51
Current line speed:
    78 Mb

When I use a broadband speed checker it is only saying 26Mb upload speeds varies from 9Mb to 10Mb. I've used Ooklas and BTs speed checker both results pretty much the same.

Re: Broadband Speed

Is that a wired or wireless speedtest? If wireless, what speed do you get with a cable?

Re: Broadband Speed

As connection speeds will usually be slower over wireless than over a wired connection do you have a network cable you could use to connect between your PC and router? If so can you run us another test that way as it would help us understand if the drop in speeds is due to the connection itself or the wifi connection.

Re: Broadband Speed

Try this speed test: http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest.html - it tends to be more accurate than the BT one.

Are my speeds acceptable for what I'm paying for?
