Re: Broadband Speed Issues :: 24-11-09 :: Discussion

An update from Dave on the Priority Problem indicates that this should now be fixed.
I'll desticky this topic after some more feedback, if necessary.

Re: Broadband Speed Issues :: 24-11-09 :: Discussion

Just done a My broadband speed test,. and pleasantly surprised..
Date                        Download Speed  Upload Speed
Today 22:37 909 kbps (114kB/s) 358 kbps (44.8kB/s)
Today 22:30 871 kbps (109kB/s) 349 kbps (43.6kB/s)
Today 21:41 595 kbps (74.4kB/s) 355 kbps (44.4kB/s)
Of course.... there are two possible reasons for the increase to "normal" speed......
1. Everyone has logged off and gone to bed because of lousy speeds. Roll_eyes
2. someone has managed to fix the machine  !  Smiley

As per Tommo's post the latter is the case.
suppose thats one of the problems with multiple threads on the same subject. It's hard to know which one to update.

Possibly unrelated issue pacamack.
Have you run thru the usual speed fault scenarios and raised it to us?

Bob
You may remember me from yesterday, "@abomb1969, as long as you remain synchronised at 3584kbps your IP profile and download speed should follow suit before too long."
My IP profile is still 135kbps and its been over 24 hours since I replaced my modem. BT speedtester just reported 100k d/l. Soooooo slow!
Cheers

Currently seeing significantly better datarate having just done a router disconnect, the reconnect, as suggested in Bob's Service Status announcement.
This connected me to gateway thn-ag1, it is also noticeable that my horrendous PING times (200ms to 960ms) is back down to a more normal 54ms.

How long does your router say it has been connected?

Mark, fault has been raised, speed still only 420 Kbps at 06:40 hrs this morning, I can't believe it has anything to do with contention.

Has your router been continually connected at a higher sync speed?

Re: Broadband Speed Issues :: 24-11-09 :: Discussion

This seems to be the bi-annual PN issue where the network becomes unreliable and broken in a number of ways. Sad
And Xmas is coming, which could be a bad time for the PN network to be in this state as people are taking time off work and their shopping online for presents.
