Hi, is it possible to block all UDP packets but permit TCP packets using the firewall? DaveH

It looks like the firewall works with port numbers, rather than protocol, so it appears to block TCP and UDP equally - for different chosen port ranges.
So the answer to your question is probably NO.

You appear to be asking for a solution for a particular problem which may be better resolved using your local router's firewall.
Be aware that blocking all incoming UDP is likely to break your internet connection, as many things rely on UDP - such as DNS and NTP, etc.
Perhaps you can elaborate on what you are trying to achieve ?

good info on broadband FW, but
1. unclear if FW filtering is being done by PN servers/DSLAMs or by customer-premises router (stated that router needs reboot to set)
- in the case of customer using own router, clearly any special PN firmware would be absent so router-based FW is non-starter
2. should be a mechanism to see logs of what has been filtered out (at least counts per port #) to validate settings and to help identify if too stringent with customer's real-world traffic (e.g. VPN, web, mail servers).
3. should be more/better info on games, P2P, DMZ, FTP situations and what & why should choose particular FW settings
