Bouncing and delayed emails

Can anyone tell me what these headers from bounced and delayed emails point towards being the problem:

Re: Bouncing and delayed emails

The headers don't give any information to explain why they did not get through.

Re: Bouncing and delayed emails

So how do we found out what is causing the delay? It is clear from the headers that it is the servers causing the problem.

Re: Bouncing and delayed emails

Can you explain your setup? The first 2 emails were delivered to PN sunmxcore servers ready for you to pick up by pop, webmail or imap. The last one was delivered to PN sunmxcore within 1 second of the email being sent. It's the Delivery-date  showing a day later and checking through my email headers I never see this Delivery-Date header.

Re: Bouncing and delayed emails

Thanks for your reply.
I use Outlook Express on an XP machine and download by pop. The machine is on from 7 in the morning until midnight connected through a broadband connection and checks for new messages every five minutes. I do not think it is a failure to collect the emails, but a failure for them to be available to collect.
Thanks

Re: Bouncing and delayed emails

My setup is different as I run my own server and the summxcore does the delivery. So I think that I confussed myself when looking at the headers. So I looked at some old headers when I was using the same setup as you and these do have the Delivery-Date entry which were the same time as received by summxcore.
So my thoughs now are: the first 2 emails failed on the last lag to transfer them to the server so that you can pick them up. With last email example having a very large time lag for this transfer.
PN need to look into this, raise a ticket and point them to this thread.

Re: Bouncing and delayed emails

I've raised a ticket ( 25678066) but they are being pretty useless. They seem to be unable to turn their brains on without an error number and neither hotmail nor yahoo have produced one.

Re: Bouncing and delayed emails

Incase anyone else gets the same problems, the solution was mind numbingly simple ( it's just a shame none of the tech support guys could work it out ) :  The mail box had apparently reached it's 50mb limit.

Re: Bouncing and delayed emails

50mb limit! first time I've heard that. Assume that it only apply to Metronet accounts! Also I believe that there is an error number for this.

Re: Bouncing and delayed emails

Also, it's usual to return a temporary error message, with several re-tries, before finally bouncing the message after e.g. 72 hours....
