Block device on WLAN

Re: Block device on WLAN

I regularly buy decent routers and WAPs on eBay for about £8 including postage - so hardly a great expense !
What could be more simple than switching the power on a mains powered device ?
It is easier than switching on a computer, starting a web browser, navigating to the router's address, logging in, finding the relevant page, remembering which device you want to include/exclude, toggling a tick box and hitting 'APPLY'. !

computer always on. browser tab open for router config so pretty simple.

I have had about 8 or 9 different routers and NONE have done EVERYTHING that they were supposed to.  Roll_eyes

I've never seen such an unhelpful bunch of answers.. I came here because I have the same problem.. I am getting massive leaching on my WLAN and need to take control of the devices connected.. we are a family of 6 and all up to date with technology.. at any one time there could be 20+ devices connected to the router and I need to identify them.. I thought I would disconnect them one by one and see who screamed so I can label the devices properly (instead of android and some gobbledegook) but the button didn't work...
