Bizarre goings on in my High Speed Broadband portal page

Not sure what's going on, but had an estimated speed of 32Mb since going live with fibre, and consistently had downloads speeds of around 29-30Mb.
I checked yesterday, and it had the same estimated speed, but said I was currently synced at 37Mb.
Today I check, and estimated speed in still the same, but it says I am synced at 77Mb!
Now I think that may be wishful thinking, unless the snow is having an effect on my fibre connection. Not complaining though just in case something miraculous has happened

I had an estimated 50mb but got 73mb.
Next door neighbour scraped 30Mb with Talk Talk FTTC
I have to kerb my smug gloating look everytime I speak to her

The speedtesters show I'm only downloading at about 30Mb still though, which makes me think its the current line speed number which is wrong.

Are you using wireless or a directly wired connection to a router port ?
My wireless is rubbish on this laptop and I can scrape around 18Mb download, the wifes laptop with Wireless N can manage 44Mb wheras my server on a gigabit switch to the router gets 72-73mb consistently.

Anyone in the know who can explain? Its still saying current line speed is 77Mb this morning.
Has my line suddenly become supersonic?

Hi kingkobra,
To try and clear thing's up for you, the line speed you're referring to is the profile we have given your line on our systems, not the actual speed you're syncing at. This is since we placed you onto the higher up-to 76Mb product. We provision your profile at 77Mb/s to allow no initial slowdowns on your connection.
Once your stable speed has been established you'll then see that the line speed you've mentioned will revert to a similar Mb/s to your sync rate which is currently 31Mb/s.
