Billion 7800N

Just ordered one of these, I couldn't resist Smiley
How is it for stability? My connection tends to drop at night due to the SNR and I was wondering if this would solve the problem.
Also, what do people on here think about it in general?
Thanks,
:).

Re: Billion 7800N

With it's current firmware 1.06e and an artificiality induced SNRM of 5db  my 7800N is rock steady at 8128kbs.
Generally I am happy with it for broadband and Wi-Fi.

What is your attentuation and what do you sync at without the SNR tweaked?

Re: Billion 7800N

If I let the SNRM float to 6db then Downstream drops to about 8000kbs. I have had 8128kbs at 6db but had an occasional overnight resync which dropped it back to the high 7000's.
Curiously I have had no overnight resyncs with the Margin pulled down to 5db Undecided
Operational Mode	G.DMT
Upstream 448
Downstream 8128
SNR Margin(Upstream) 24.0
SNR Margin(Downstream) 5.0
Line Attenuation(Upstream) 19.0
Line Attenuation(Downstream) 25.0

Thanks Strat, how are the errors in relation to the uptime?

Re: Billion 7800N

A recent line fault dropped my SNRM down to 1.6dB and mine held the signal without a flinch and a sync of over 12Mbps. It's getting a reputation of being one of the best around. If you want a full set of line stats Routerstats now works with it as well.
@Strat...
Download the latest Routerstats..   earlier versions don't work.
For the router search text use this URL for the stats page   ...  http://192.168.1.254/status/adslstatus.html
Tick "Use source A", get the page and mark the stats that you want
Telnet:
login set to admin and password
Change telnet prompt to ">"
Change chipset command set to adsl info --stats, tick alternative data format.

That is very encouraging. I hope I get the same results on ADSL1! How close are you to the exchange and what are your full stats?

I presume you've marked the noise parameters in the Get Page dialog?
