Billion 7800 advice

Plusnet have informed me that my exchange has been upgraded to ADSL2+, which is great but means I need a new modem/router.
I am considering a Billion 7800 (not wireless) but have seen forum threads stating that there is a problem when downloading large files in that you can get pauses of several seconds during the download. I will be wanting to connect to iPlayer some of the time and this would be unacceptable.
Does anyone out there use the Billion 7800 modem, and if so do they have any problems with iPlayer?
Any advice would be gratefully received.

Re: Billion 7800 advice

I've had no problems with my 7800N and iPlayer.

Re: Billion 7800 advice

I can't speak for the 7800 so this may be totally useless to you, but my new 7800N has been absolutely rock solid over the past couple of weeks with no drops when streaming... Any complaints I've ever seen about the 7800 series behaving like that is nearly always due to wireless being used, but I could be wrong there!
I've got Top Gear playing in HD in the background to test it and haven't had the slightest blip in 10 minutes...

@Strat and @dfunked
Thank you for your comments. Will certainly help me in deciding on which router to go for.

Re: Billion 7800 advice

I picked up a second hand 7700N and while I initially had some issues with the unit, I'm pleased to say things are resolved and working fine. Sync's nearly half a meg higher than my DG834GT.
Firmware flash (existing version) and factory reset resolved matters.
