Re: Back to abysmal speeds.

HI coolbr33ze,
I can see your results there. Can you tell me if you're using extension cables/sockets? Have you tried the test socket? Is it wireless? I could really do with a bit more than just the results to be fair.

Re: Back to abysmal speeds.

Hi Jojo,
Sorry about the post,i'm sure you understand how i'm feeling.
Done  the test socket, phone is clear no crackles or anything apart from the normal dial tone,  no extentions/sockets, just one filter for the phone and router, no wireless. The longest wire is from the router (1.6M new) to filter, the master socket had a new faceplate fitted about 5 weeks (approx) ago by BT when PN called them out for the same issue, Since BT came out i have had sounds coming through the speakers as if i was on the 'old' party line, still get the same sound when i log out of the computer, just thought i'd mention that.
If i'm downloading anything i can't use the net at the same time or it's not worthwhile me using it, as my previous issue, windows or Linux the issue is still there wether the two boxes are connected or one box.
I am beginning to wonder if BT are upto their old tricks of getting customers by interfering with the exchange and pass the buck.

Re: Back to abysmal speeds.

Are you still in the test socket? Are you hearing noise on your phone line when the phone is plugged into the test socket by itself?

Hi coolbr33ze,
If you raise a fault I'll pick it up and we'll take it from there.

Re: Back to abysmal speeds.

Hi Jojo,
No noises from the test socket or Master (phone only), getting a clean dial tone.
Although the speed test appears to be decent, going of previous comments, the pages are really slow, i have a Netgear router (DGN2200) 5 weeks old(approx), Mobo=M5A78L-M/USB3, bought same time as the router, i've stripped all the hardware out just to eliminate possible issues, but they have made no difference.

Re: Back to abysmal speeds.

The speed seems a lot better there, are you connecting wirelessly while the pages are slow loading?

Re: Back to abysmal speeds.

How slow is it? Is it any quicker if you type the IP address instead of the web address?

Re: Back to abysmal speeds.

I don't know the actual IP addresses so i can't help with that one,how slow?,I can open my tobacco tin take out the papers before the page shows, sometimes i can actually roll a smoke before the page loads, it's worse still if i download at the same time i'm surfing, i have the same four sites bookmarked that i go to all the time, e-mail,Facebook, wikileaks and here, if i have a technical query. then i go to the relevant site which is usually Asus, that's about it really.

Re: Back to abysmal speeds.

Try ours 212.159.8.2
Also, have you run a scan on your machine in case anything is using your bandwidth?
