Re: BT profile 7150 - PN profile 6500 after 5 days

I got a reply to my ticket saying that:
Quote
an above average amount of the lines that we regrade to ADSL2  lose connectivity and go straight into a fault investigation

They say that they are therefore discouraging businesses from regrading. I have written back asking whether 'above average' equates to 'more than 50%'. Or, if not, what it does mean.

Re: BT profile 7150 - PN profile 6500 after 5 days

Hi Tony,
I've just been chatting to one of our biz guys. He says that the percentage is a lot less now than it was originally, so it's down to about 4% The main thing, he says, is that you have to be aware if you are regraded it can mean that if you have a fault, it can take longer to resolve.

Re: BT profile 7150 - PN profile 6500 after 5 days

Hi Jojo.
Thanks for getting back so quickly. One in 25 does not seem too bad odds. The ticket just got a further reply with:
Quote
I can confirm we don't have specific numbers but yes we are recognising as performance has increased with the adsl2 connections that the stability on these has become an issue

I think I will take the chance as my line is short(ish) and seems error-free.
Thanks again for your help.

Re: BT profile 7150 - PN profile 6500 after 5 days

Hi Jojo,
There has been nothing back from CS since my last post (4pm 15th September) requesting the regrade to go ahead.
Has the BT guy with the torch taken early retirement? How long does it normally take and how will I know when it has been done?

Hi Jojo,
Thanks again for all of your help. I hope the transition goes smoothly...
I will look out for signs on 24th - hopefully an altered profile and faster speeds.

Re: BT profile 7150 - PN profile 6500 after 5 days

So far so good. I am now synching at 14915  Kbps and 440  Kbps. My throughput has not changed as the PN IP profile is still at 6500 Kbps, but that is to be expected as we still have 4 days until completion of the process.
