Note: An Upstream test was not conducted on this line due to a technical issue. If your concern is related to upstream performance then please retry
the performance test again in 1 hours time.
Checked routerstats and today their was only one drop

No one has to agree with my opinion, but in the time I have left a miracle would be nice.

Re: BT Speedtester - is it broken?

Is there anything apart from being 21CN that is common to those who get rubbish results?
For instance I'm on Windows 7, which is not mentioned in the footnotes, not are all browsers mentioned.
What about exchange work for FTTC, night that be a factor? My exchange is scheduled for end March 2011 and there does seem a larger than usual number Openreach vans around.

Re: BT Speedtester - is it broken?

What internet security package are you running.
In the forum linked to above Kaspersky may be part of the problem
Quote
I was just reading on the BT forums and it was mentioned on there that if you have Kaspersky running (I do) that you should exit this first and then test.
**I have just tested this out, firstly disable each individual component that makes up Kaspersky Internet Security (if you have it), then click "apply" and then right click the "K" icon in system tray and then click "exit".
The result is that for me the BT speed tester works normally without KIS running and gives a normal result!**

This test carried out at 20:07 on 21st had everything correct except the sync speeds.
This is the first time the IP profile has been correct since moving to 21CN although the sync speeds are still wrong
Will repeat the test in an hour

Re: BT Speedtester - is it broken?

FYI my contradictory results were from my using Firefox 3.6.10 on Mac OSX 10.6.4.
The BT test page only mentions various versions of Windoze and Linux as being compatible, with no mention of Macs at all.

It's not software sensitive - it fails in exactly the same way on Linux (21CN).

Interestingly both Safari 5.0.2 and Firefox 3.6.10 on an iMac 10.6.4 stall at the upload test and report odd results for the download profile, a Mac mini and a Windows 7 laptop complete the whole test with believable answers. I am on 21CN ADSL2+.

I thought the system was that you and BT could access the results of the tests and surely there is a date stamp on them

Yes, we can access the results but I'd have to run individual line checks on the circuits in question which is very time consuming and cumbersome.

Bob, As people tend to take screen shots or copy/paste the entire text, have you suggested to BT that they add the date/time to the results display?

Will make the suggestion, but I wouldn't hold your breath! Wink

What you need is screengrab! which allows you to take a screen shot of the entire page (see attached sample).

Good plugin, I use it too! To be honest though, it's probably better if you copy and paste the text from the speedtest results into your forum posts so I don't have to manually copy the information from a screebgrab.
Thanks for the examples though guys. For the time being I only need new examples from people experiencing the problem who haven't yet posted.
