BBC iPlayer, Channel 4OD, Sky by Broadband and Kontiki's 'Kservice.exe'

I can't believe there hasn't been more of an outcry over these public service broadcasters installing Malware onto our PC's!
For those who don't know Kservice.exe is a P2P service that provides the backbone to these players. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kontiki
What they dont tell you is that this service runs on your computer even when you do not have the player applications open uploading files you have downloaded to other users.
I have also heard that the 4OD uninstaller fails to remove Kservice.exe although I cannot confirm this.
Essentially the upshot of all of this to the unwary is that you will be using bandwidth without realising it. The user has no control over how much bandwith is being used or when. This may not bother most as I don't think upload traffic limits are capped, perhaps a representive from plus.net could confirm this please.
You can stop the service or block it using your firewall but that doen't address the principals that the user is not informed and has no control.
Also would be great to hear feedback from Plus.net if they envisage potential bandwidth issues with these new services as the uptake could have a heavy impact on the network after all this service is activley being pushed by Plus.net when other posting suggest other ISP's are not happy.
[addition] I've just come accross this excellent posting from Dave Tomlinson @ Plus.net http://community.plus.net/trafficmanagement/2007/08/17/iplayer-part-2-the-wrath-of-khan/ [addition]

Good news, for those of you 'infected' and unable to uninstall 'kservise.exe' Sky have released an uninstall utility called 'kclean.exe'
