Re: BB reboots when using the phone.

Thanks Adam but the fault does point to an exchange fault. There is still no explanation why when an exchange engineer claims he did nothing when the connection came up it was down nearly 4 meg and SNR had jumped from 5.5/6 to 12. The engineer also said a field engineer would be with us soon but nobody turned up.

Re: BB reboots when using the phone.

I'm getting damn annoyed now. Before the so called BTO engineer claimed he did nothing my speed is dropping constantly and the SNR rising. I have gone from a 17115 and 5.5 SNR to 11865 and SNR 14. The pillock who claims have done nothing has mucked up my Broadband connection.

Re: BB reboots when using the phone.

The saga continues. A BTO engineer turned up, rejoined a load of cables that had only been rejoined a couple of weeks ago then could not complete a test because the test at the exchange was not working. I then checked my ticket to find BTO had closed the fault yesterday. What a shower!!!

Hi glloyd,
Just asked our faults team to look into this for you, hoping you'll get an update on the ticket shortly.

Re: BB reboots when using the phone.

Yet another day and no show from engineers. Last sighting was him saying he was going to check up the road. SNR continues to climb and speed drop.

Hi, I'm not aware that we'd booked an engineer visit for you, although I am aware that some external engineering tasks were due to be done.
I'll take a further look into this with our faults team now for you.
Adam
EDIT: Just speaking to BTW now, an engineer did go out yesterday and rejumpered the line at the junction box as the previous work done didn't appear to be up to scratch to them. Following that pair quality tests didn't indicate any issues and the fault was closed.
I can see you've had an 18hr connection since but bearing in mind you've had longer connections during the time this fault has been evident I'd suggest we monitor the uptime of the connection for a few days:

Re: BB reboots when using the phone.

Adam I can see why customers get annoyed and leave. I had a simple very intermittent fault that was made worse by some bod at the exchange doing something on Monday morning. A line engineer was sent out to remake joints outside my house that had only been done a few weeks ago as a new multi house cable was fitted. Since then my speed has dropped from 17311 to 11828 ans SNR jump from 5.5 to 15.
All I keep getting is conflicting information - One person says the job is still open and needs yet another engineer whilst another says it's closed and no fault found and now I've just been told a new fault will have to be raised. You can bet your bottom dollar they will go over the same checks and fail to do the obvious and recheck what the bod did on Monday to cause the fault. It does make me livid when nobody listens to how the fault started and keeps looking else where. And of course at each stage it's wait 48 to 72 hours. It does not take Brain of Britain that if you do something and it goes wrong you go back and check what you have done. Obviously to complicated for BTO ot Plusnet.

Re: BB reboots when using the phone.

I'm sorry you feel that way and apologise if you've been given any conflicting information.
Let me clarify, an engineer did re jumper the line at the junction box yesterday, I'm aware that some similar work has been done on Monday, I'm not aware of the precise details of that work but I'm happy to dig further for you if needed.
The fault report was indeed closed by out suppliers after this work yesterday, that isn;'t something that we wanted, however I understand this is now a speed issue rather than a concern about an intermittent connection so we can raise a new fault report as a speed issue for you.
The other Adam you spoke to on the phone was a bit confused by this as it wasn't reflected on the ticket and I did my best to clarify the same for him.

Re: BB reboots when using the phone.

Hi Adam, The BTO engineer who phoned me from the exchange on Monday claims he did nothing. I do not believe this because the phone and broadband was disconnected for some time. When it reconnected my speed had dropped and my SNR had jumped from 5.5/6 to 15. Can you please chase up the speed fault please.  I hope I'm not going have a re run of the last fault I had when it took 14 engineer visits over several weeks with me having a heart attack in between.

Re: BB reboots when using the phone.

Hi glloyd,
I've just chased this up and it seems an engineer has now gone out and tested the pair, which is testing alright:
"jnt remade in the jf6 on the jcn of cypress rd and walnut drive, old joint was a heat shrink wack200 , recrimped the eu pr and the digital noise testing ok to this point. not confirmed ok with the eu but line is pq testing ok "."
We'll keep on at this for you.

Re: BB reboots when using the phone.

The re crimping was done on Wednesday but the engineer said he would not be going to the exchange to see what had been done on Monday to cause the problem which seemed a bit daft as that's when the problem started..
